New Addition > New Edition

This just in… Yours truly isn’t the only one who’s going to be getting used to the new digs. This afternoon, I acquired a new roommate. Of course, this one will probably pee on the floor now and again in the early going while he gets used to the place, but I’m prepared for that. He’s also only 10 weeks old, so there’s some serious growing up to do.

Meet Striker.

  1. I would like to snorggle his wrinkly neck skin.

I’m not even precisely sure what that means, but I am sure he’d enjoy it.

  2. It looks like you have Striker in a headlock and are showing him “you’re the submissive one.. I am in charge here.”

I hope he pees on your carpet for that!

Take him on a road trip and bring him to come see me! You know the whole “pets for therapy” thing? I need him to make my broken bones heal faster..please ? Please? PLEASE? I have a fenced yard and he can (hopefully) eat my roommate’s cats that I can’t stand.

Well, he already peed on the tile floor… does that count?

  3. Well well, you didn’t waste any time did you??

No… He hates the crate. I need to do something about that, stat.

  4. Too cute! He’s pretty big for 10 weeks. What kind is he and where did you end up getting him? Rescue?

As I open myself up to excoriation from the blogging brigade… He is not a rescue. A nearby family had a litter of yellow labs and I went toodling on over to look, at which point I decided “I am not leaving here without a dog,” and so it was.

  5. oh he’s so cute…………congrats on new roommate and I did the name.

Thanks. It should come as no surprise that it is soccer inspired.

  6. It will always be Stryker to me. The “y” = badass.

I told him this, but he doesn’t believe you.

  7. The dog needed a home and you gave him one, and that’s a rescue in my book :-)

He looks like he’s going to be a wonderful friend. Congratulations!

    Thanks. It should be fun.

  8. Soccer and Airplane! references in the same name. Well done.

Call it a pre-rescue, because where do you think the pups would go if the family couldn’t keep them?

    Congrats on the new roommate.

    Hm… kinda like preventative maintenance.

  9. yay congrats! what a cutie!

  10. O M G. So adorable.

  11. OMG.. i thought i was the cute blonde in your life!!
    xoxo

  12. I can see Lil Striker has taken right over, and that’s how it should be. He’s adorable….oops…someone said that. Well. He is. A chick magnet in the dog park.
